ok so I can't sing (well at least out side in public anyway)

friday, the last of the work week, the catch-up day, the beginning of the weekend
TGIF
why do we use the abbreviations like that?
the first letter of the words in a phrase?
I sometimes don't get that....................but this one.......TGIF....I do..at least for today - friday
