The God of Heaven may be omnipotent in his dealings with sin in the next life,
but the God of the Government prefers to handle sinful matters in this life.
I found this quote terribly amusing
(which is, of itself, an interesting turn of phrase)
Altho the here-after is ours for the imagining or defined by our belief system;
The here-and-now is quite well defined, immediate and enforced daily.
