as residents
who truly care.

these folks moved to be in a city they fell in love with,
the hurricanes hit a few months after
they worked then
& they still do...
with local groups to provide food, medicine and care to those in need
they are working to rebuild a historic american city
New Orleans Louisiana
This is the city that helped birth American Music with
Blues & Jazz & Rock'nRoll
(not to mention some of the very best food ever anywhere!)
This city and it's citizens
who are our fellow country men
needs our attention
our support
& our caring
Non-action for american citizens should be considered acts of tyranny
& impeachable offenses
Please pay attention
Please don't forget

ads or statements?

I don't care for ads very much.
not on TV,
not on radio,
not on webpages...
but I do feel that there is a time to make a statement
a statment about what we can do
a mention about how we can help
a comment about what we belive in
so there will be some banners added
things like
http://one.org/
Because these are sites that provide help,
help to those that need it most,
help to those who may not be able to speak for themselves
help that we can provide simply and quickly
help that really makes a difference in the world
and we are here to make a positive difference
might be a small bit of positive,
but every postive bit of difference we can provide
builds to make the world a brighter, better place

tryants

When I despair,

I have been dealing with tryants at work...
or so it seems
the little tin gods & goddesses that feel they have the right to have thier bidding done for any reason with no explaination...
some of these are inspectors
(they might have a good reason for wanting it all done their way)
but they won't coordinate with the other agencies
(my game - my rules)
some are doctors
(enough said there)
some are supervisors
(not of my department but they act as if the whole of the clinic is their domain)

and then there are those who are really trying to do well,
to be clear in expectations,
to encourage all to work to their best,
to be supportive of the patients & employees.
I so value those folks.
may they

honest

so when are we honest?
with ourselves?
with our families?
with the god who made us?
I personally have a varied
(some would say vary different)
view of god
however...

I recognize many other god views as well...
so when do we talk to god?

when we have an issue to live for?

when we have an issue to live through?

when we have an issue to die for?
or is it when we recognize in ourselves an issue that needs addressing?
I find myself in all of the above places on most issues...
to be honest I more often ask for betterment
for myself,
for my family
&
for my friends
all in one breathe.
because without my family and friends I am less a person

I did learn to knit tho
...might be knitting backwards
...figures that I'd learn a new craft and be working the stitches in a different way.....

a friend at work is doing a "50 things" list and challenged me to do the same
it is a list of the 50 things that you'd like to do this year...

or in your lifetime (for the BIG items like travel to Tibet for a sabbatical)

I really have no idea, as yet, to what those 50 things would encompass...

somehow this makes me feel like an incomplete person,
unfinished, almost a work in progress...

I'll be thinking 'bout this in the coming months and adding to the list over time

being an unfinished bit of a work in progress isn't an uncomfortable thing to be...

it's just where I am right now

why am I afraid to create?

perhaps because being out-there means I have to share
I have to let the world in
I have to really be in the world
I have to let go

fear can hold one back from so many things...
art...
poetry...
ourselves...

It's time to be out there, for me anyway...
one of my resolutions is to create art everyday...
be it a beady bit, a poem or just a blog of thoughts for the day...

it's time for me to get into the world...
to share...
to experience...
to not be afraid.

word play

when I want to write the words fight
to come out of my head
then they see the keys
& flee
they see the paper
& scatter
they see the screen
& scream
into hiding
my words are trying to be free


even bad poetry is good if it gets the words out and down
the pratice of writing is as important as the words and word order itself
writing down what's tossing around inside, jotting of thoughts, catching a fleeting glimpse of the mind in private action & putting it to paper or screen is an act of creativity that brings more & more to the forefront of the conscience for consideration, enumeration & commintment
for when our words are put down, put out there, shared, then the true soul of ourselves can begin to see that it's safe, it's ok, it's good even, to be there.
& when our words are safe out there, so are we.

so write a bit
think a lot
share often
